1990 Routes

The 1990 Enroute Chart shows the Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland tracks passing over Lord Howe Island. The Christchurch traffic used the Hokitika beacon on the west coast of the South Island of NZ.

1996 Routes

By 1996, only Auckland region traffic used Lord Howe as a waypoint. The rest took more directs GPS routes over the Tasman Sea. Christchurch traffic still used the Hokitika beacon.
